Hi there,

I read on various websites and blogs and so on that once you have your drive
encrypted with Bitlocker that you cannot use the provided backup program
anymore!

Is that true, and if yes what can I do to circumvent this?

I have used Bitlocker before (this is my re-install) and it worked
flawlessly with a USB key. So I was pretty pleased with this security, as
well as with the performance.

So now I would like to know if the two (or three, as I think it includes EFS
too) are completely compatible with each other, and whether it's worth going
to the set-up of Bitlocker again or whether to await a fix if it is indeed a
problem.

I am the proud owner of Vista Ultimate.

p.s. To all others out there; Bitlocker automatically creates a 1.5GB S:
drive/partition for the basic startup files, so there is no need for any
manual work (apart from some one security setting to allow for USB to act as
a TPM device...)

Is the bitlocker tool been released. My understanding is that right now you
have to make the partition manually but one of the ultimate extras will do it
automatically.

Bitlocker is part of Vista Ultimate (and I think Business too) - as a
downloadable Update.

It configures everything for you - no worrying about creating your own
partitions!

Works wonderfully. I boot with a USB key for maximum security on my laptop.

Bit locker is not available in Business, only in Enterprise and Ultimate.
