I uninstalled Bitdefender Security V10.... and did it thru add/remove.
But now this balloon alert keeps coming up saying " your computer may
be at risk, turn bitdefender firewall on " And that causes windows
firewall go be turned off. Any ideas, anyone?

When you had Bitdefender installed was there an icon by the clock (
bottom right ) of the desktop ? If there was , did you exit there
first before you uninstalled ?

I don't remember an icon, but what would that have done... I did a
search for anything bitdefender and there is nothing on my pc, and yet
that balloon alert comes up. Every time it does, I have to go back in
and turn on windows firewall

Use this:
Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Remove unwanted programs and traces easily
http://www.revouninstaller.com/

and/or

RegSeeker
http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
Type in:
1) BitDefender => Search => Delete All (Back-Up is done automatically).
2) Softwin => Search => Delete All (Back-Up is done automatically).

Then use NTREGOPT to compact the registry; Follow instructions.

Good luck
