Free BitDefender_7.0 AV

Normally, i do not cross-post, however since i did not received any
replies in alt.comp.anti-virus ng & it is freeware, i thought i would
try here.

Has anyone had any "use" history using the free AV program named
BitDefender-7.0 on a Win 98 system?
I have not found any online reviews comparing it to others.

BTW- For Win98 OS users.... what is the best "Free" AV package that does
not bog-down the cpu?

Advise & comparisons would be helpful & appreciated!

PS.
please, don't shun me just because i choose to post using a WebTV
browser.
it really does make a convenient newsgroup reader system.

Thanks, i have used AntiVir for several months, it does not bog the
system, your right however several people (& some AV Reviews i've read)
do not give it high marks for the Win98 OS system.

that's why in my original post, i was curious about the use history of
BitDefender 7.0
Why?
cause i've not seen any reviews or neg comments about it. at all.

I thought some of you, the newsgroup regulars, might have had some
use_history with BitDefender 7.0.

Any one in this ng ever used it before? ...Good, Bad or the Ugly? 8~)

Perhaps a better link is this one:

http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/p...s.php?p_id=24#

It looks good, but I (probably like many others) use another program
(AVG or Avast! usually). You may not be getting responses that you
like because most people don't see the need to try out another AV
program. However, if you're patient, somebody will sooner or later get
curious and try the program you mention and reply.

In the German C'T magazine of April this year, a Test elected the payware
version 6.5 as the best choice. This test also included AVG and AntiVir.
That does make a freeware version of BitDefender interesting.
They have a freeware DOS version too.
