Biostar Motherboard no POST

Hello all. I recently upgraded a friend's computer to a Biostar M7NCG400
motherboard, Barton 2500/333, generic PC2700 RAM and an Antec SL350 PSU. It
was working fine for a few weeks when it started freezing during WinXP
bootup, whether normal, safe mode or "last known good configuration". I
reinstalled WinXP and it worked fine until I rebooted, and then the freezing
again. So, thinking it might be bad memory, I replaced the stick of PC2700
with a stick of PC2100 I had on hand and got no video or POST codes.
Realizing I had made an error putting in the slower RAM I replaced it with
the original RAM but still nothing. I've tried resetting the CMOS, but no
joy. Does this sound like a bad motherboard or something else? Could
trying the PC2100 RAM cause a motherboard failure?

Thanks for any help,
WW

I had almost the exact same problem with a Biostar M7VIK. It turns out
the CPU temperature censor on the motherboard crapped out on me. I've
had that happen on two of the 6 M7VIK's that I've used so far and one
M7NCD-Pro board. They had to be swapped out for a good board.
