The xpcd is bootable, you dont need a boot disk.
In the bios check the boot order, it should read something like this
Hard Drive
Floppy
CD
If you have been fiddling in the bios first set it to defaults, then locate
the boot order.
PS I'd have thought HP support pages would have had info, on some PC's there
is a F key that enables boot from cd
