I am getting conflicting information about BIOS settings for PIP OS and APM
(power mgt). Is it recommended by the BIOS manual to set the BIOS to PIP OS
with any PIP OS. Obviously XP is PIP but I have also read that that is for
pre XP operating systems.



Also I have read that disabling power management in the BIOS gives the OS
full control of the power management functions thus avoiding any conflicts
between the OS and BIOS. Again this is in conflict with the BIOS manual.



Any information would be appreciated.

Leave PIP and PM off in your BIOS.
