A couple of months ago I had problems with my computer. One thing that
occurred was the setting in my BIOS that requires a password to access
the settings was changed to enabled during a system failure. (Why this
occurred
I have no idea) This wasn't the case prior to the system failure.
How might I change this setting back?? If I need to unplug something in my
computer I would be grateful if you would be explicit.
I found this out when I ran Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.
Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor reported that my processor needs to be
800 MHz or faster. But I know my processor is 1 GHz and I'm assuming the
BIOS
isn't reporting the correct CPU Speed.

Any help will be appreciated,

The is usually a bios reset jumper...typically near the battery
there are three pins...just move the jumper over for a few seconds....then
back again

I located the battery but could not find a jumper anywhere on the
motherboard.
Maybe I didn't look long enough. I'm guessing the jumper is extremly small?
Diagnostic software is reporting the precessor as AuthenticAMD, Athlon(k7)

look up the spec or info or jumper settings sheet for your motherboard. it
should clearly state which jumpers need to be changed or shorted in order to
do a bios reset

Take the battery out and wait overnight. Install a fresh
battery and then reset the BIOS. The mobo manual should
have complete instructions.
