BIOS Partially on Sector 0 of The Hard Drive

Back in the olden days (I'm really dating myself) I used to load multiple
operating systems on my computer, and I found utilities to manage
sector/track, etc. specifically to how I wanted it. I would then put Linux
on partition 0 (for exml) and Windows on another

Do you know if utilities are still out there. to place BIOS firmware code
on a hard drive's first (0) partition? And if I could find my system board's
firmware code out there to download too, that would be great.
