BIOS/memory question

I have an Intel D865GBF board that was in dual channel (2x256MB) mode.

I recently added a 512MB that put it in single channel. Everything came out
fine.

However, I noticed in my BIOS info, it now says: "Processor Type: I"

I reverted back to dual channel and it goes back to what it said before:

"Processor Type: Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4"

When I am under single channel mode, under My Computer properties, it still
says Intel Pentium 4 CPU.

Just wondering if the "Processory Type: I" was normal.

Thanks.

You'll have to contact Intel and ask them.

Try going to:http://www.intel.com/design/motherbo...ex.htm?iid=ipp
_browser+motherbd_d865gbf&
The R.sub-menu gives tech links, try selected memory, however,i believe you
need two sticks of the 512mb set in slot 1 and 3,then the other 256 need to
go to 2 and 4 completing the proper configuration.Actually i know thats the
problem with yours,1 512 can only run solo to be 512 otherwise all needs to
be in pairs.
