It is probably just telling you that it noticed that you changed CPUs.
On an Athlon board, you would need to go into the BIOS and set the
correct bus frequency and multiplier for the new CPU (the default
after a change is an "ultra-conservative" setting). I don't know
whether the same applies to Intel boards, but you may need to go in
and resave the BIOS anyway to tell the board to remember the new CPU
type.
