I want to get to the BIOS on my HP Pavillion Desktop a1610n with Athlon

64X2 4200+, socket AM2, chipset GEForce 6150LE with ASUS MB name:A8M2N-LA,
HP Motherboard name: NodusM3-GL8E.

Hitting F1 during startup gets me to a number of things, but not the CMOS /
BIOS.Same with F2 or DEL or ESC.

I am running WindowsXP, SP2 installed. All drivers are up to date.

Any ideas ?

If no one else has the same model you do, you may need to
contact HP Tech Support to get the answer. It could be that
they crippled the BIOS on purpose, and perhaps Tech Support
will admit to that for you. The BIOS on the board might not
have been supplied by Asus.

The page for the motherboard, says the key to use is "F1".
But you've already tested that.

<F10> is the standard BIOS entry key on HP/Compaq systems. (If you
watch as you boot the system, you'll see this information displayed
briefly.)

NO NO NO, F10 is the RESTORE key and will delete everything on the hard
drive and restore thereafter all to Factory installed condition. NOT at all
recommended ever, only in extreme cases.

Ever tried to locate a "Manual" for this PC? Did it not come with
one? No CD-ROM with information? I ask because each and every PC I
owed, and some motherboard I bought to replace the originals came
with those type of information.

Are the function keys "enabled" during boot up?

Yes.

Ask in a group that has something to do with your topic. This
question has nothing to do with the OS.

Ask elsewhere

F1 works on my HP Pavilion desktop. I assume you tap the key several
times as you begin booting, not just once.

Have you tried contacting HP?

And pay no attention to Paul...
