When I tried to install Win 2000 on my computer, it gave me an error message
"BIOS is shadowed, need to disable it".
I could not find the option that allows me to disable that in the BIOS. Can
anybody help me to solve this problem??

what kind of motherboard are you using, and who makes the bios?

The motherboard is Intel 810E chipset, and the bios is made by Phoenixbios.

Go into your bios settings, and look for caching settings
something there should say, bios shadowed.
actually it slows things down to have it shadowed.
(various parts of it moved to ram)
drag out the owners manual and spend some time looking
for the shadowed settings.
