How do I open these kinds of files & run them?

They are disk images. You can burn them to cd to use them, but if you don't
ave a cd writer you can open them with a program like WinISO

Contact the source from which you downloaded the files
from and ask them. Sounds like you've been downloading
programs from a file sharing web site. If those are copyrighted
programs , you should delete them since you did not purchase
a license to legally use them.

Why does everyone assume this? Maybe his cousins uncle's daughters friend
created the iso image of family photos. Or maybe he downloaded the Linux
solution for lost XP passwords, that comes in an .iso file. I guess it's
guilty until he can prove innoscence.
