Windows Vista is out-shipping Windows XP, with 40 million copies hitting the
streets so far, Bill Gates told hardware engineers today.

Opening Microsoft's annual Windows Hardware and Engineering Conference
(WinHEC) extravaganza in Los Angeles, Gates claimed Windows Vista is
shipping twice as fast as Windows XP, the operating system's predecessor.

I wonder how many MS disciples will rant about this article being "biased"
like they do when anyone posts articles that point out problems with MS &
Vista

Bill Gates says so?
OK sure, then it just GOTTA be true huh?

-- btw, he also said this:
=======================================
- "Microsoft programs are generally bug-free. If you visit the Microsoft
hotline, you'll literally have to wait weeks if not months until someone
calls in with a bug in one of our programs. 99.99% of calls turn out to
be user mistakes. [...]
I know not a single less irrelevant reason for an update than bugfixes.
The reasons for updates are to present more new features."

IF, what Mr. Gates states is the truth, then the article, and posting of
said article, is not biased.

In a news group run/staffed/maintained by Microsoft enthusiasts/employees,
used to help with Microsoft problems and visited by people who are having
problems with a Microsoft product, discussing said article is not bias.

Bringing/posting the above to a Linux/Ubuntu/Apple help group would be such.

Too bad that you Mac and Linux users do not realize such.

There are millions of more PC's today than in 2001 when XP came out. This
is not news. Just marketing hype that Microsoft is getting out there. How
about something interesting like who will be the next American Idol?

Being a publicly traded company (MSFT), I don't think MS would risk
doing such a stupid thing because touted numbers need to match financial
documents filed with the SEC.
Plus share holders could bring a lawsuit over inflated numbers.

right. light another candle on your Bill Gates shrine.

you must also believe W when he says we're "winning the war on terrorism"
and that we must stay in Irag till "victory is achieved" - whatever that
is... he never says.

one man's "truth" is another man's spin...
believe what you will.

Not too long ago, a couple of guys named Kenneth Lay & Jeffery Skilling
announced to their stockholders that everything at Enron was just fine...
