Hi,

I've got a MSI K7T 266 pro2a RU (raid) board BIOS: MS6360 v. 3.7, WIN XP pro
SP2
Attached to the raid are two 40 GB HDs and to the IDE controller two 80 GB
HDs plus a DVD reader and a DVD writer. One of the 80 GB disks I want to
replace by a 250 or 300 GB disk.
Can I do this without any trouble or will I get problems recognizing the
bigger disk?

I hope someone can give me the right answer.
Thanks a lot in advance!

japke

I second that ... no problem at all. If you were replacing one of the HDD's
on the raid that would be trouble if the other one didnt match. You are
replacing one of the IDE which xp pro sp2 will use and utilize with no
problems.

Your motherboard's BIOS on that older motherboard will not recognize a
harddrive that large. You'll have to see if you can find an updated BIOS
that sllows that size of harddrive on the motherboard manufacturer's web
site.

the disk.
