Here's some pix of a big wheel we've had installed locally.

A ferris wheel, if you will, not as high as the London Eye, it's still 60 metres high.

I haven't been on it yet but I will be going on it and when I do I'll take some snaps.

Two pix of the early stages, assembly:

The pic that appeared on the BBC news site as 'Pic Of The Day'

This is what it looks like from my new home:

And at night from where I live:

And two pix from last night, six of us went on a pub crawl, quite an extraordinary sunset:

Hey it looks cool though, and in Greenwhich you don't have to contend with the high buildings as the London Eye do ya..?

Some superb pics there Flopp's especially the last one of the sunset..

You a lucky bug having that as close to you...Is it a temporary thing or is it staying put for all time...

That Nikon coolpix S500 takes some good shots in the twilight, did you program those sunset shots or just fire away on automatic..

MMG: No really high buildings in the immediate vicinity, no.

CL: All taken with the Coolpix S500 except pic No. 5, the night shot, which was taken with a D40X on auto everything.

Thanks, all, for the comments

Great pics there Flops - like crazylegs I really like that last one

We've got a wheel almost identical to that in Manchester, and it's been there almost permanently for a few years now.

It's good fun to go on when it's Bonfire night as you get to see all the fireworks from a height

Great pix Flopps, the last one is super, but I also like the view across the roof-tops, for the chimneys and intriguing glimpses of landscape between them.

Saw an article on The Wheel on London Tonight.
Looks to be in a good area by the old Royal Navy College.
Have you been on it yet?

I have a few more pix of that sunset, not with the big wheel in them, I shall post them later.
