My DVD drive got screwt, i tried using the trouble shooter but it didn't help, I also tried restoring the system, but the computer uses the DVD drive as default drive for restoring the computer, luckily my CD-ROM is still working i would like to know how to set it as the default boot drive

Thanks in advance,

Set it in the BIOS.

Second thought, have you tried using the device manager to
remove the DVD drive and rebooting to see if it will be
detected and installed as new hardware?

Why do you want to set the cd as the default boot drive?

EdCAFE,

Reboot computer. As it reboots hold down the 'Delete' key until BIOS
settings appear.

Using your arrow keys, use the right arrow to advance to the 'Boot' option.
Now use the down arrow and go to '2nd Boot device', click 'Enter'.

Use the down arrow to the 'CDROM' option, click 'Enter'.

Now click the F10 key, click 'Yes' (Enter), let computer boot up.

Drew
