I have Norton Anit-Virus, which already has a fix out for
this. And I have downloaded the Microsoft patch on my
computer at work. Problem is, the Norton fix says to
disable System Restore on Windows XP before applying their
fix. Of course, their link to the instructions on how to
disable System Restore is broke, and their phone lines are
hosed. Anyone know how to disable it? I'm hoping it's
just a simple setting change, but I'm not home now so I
can't look.

Right Click on the "My Computer" icon on desktop.

Click on the "System Restore" tab

Click "Turn off System Restore on all drives"

To turn-off System Restore:

Right-click on MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > System Restore , make your settings
selections and click "apply". Reboot your computer.

Note: Make sure to re-enable System Restore after your repair!
