i wish to install xp pro in a new 320gb hd. i have the original upgrade minus
any service packs. accordingly it only recognizes a 130gb hd. how do i proceed

Hi me,

Perhaps you should consider creating a bootable, slipstreamed install CD.
You could follow the instructions here:

Slipstreamed Windows XP CD Using SP2
http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm
(or do a web search for slipstreaming instructions, as plenty of them abound!)

Also, many people seem pleased with having used autostreamer to slipstream:
