I have a PPT file that is over 207,000,000 bytes!

It has quite a few pictures (slides), but no more that others that are about
2,000,000 in size.

I have no idea why it's that big.
Do you??
I need some ideas....

Thanks,
Doug

Make a copy of the file--no matter how long it takes.
Open it. Try this on at LEAST 10% of the pictures to see if it helps:

Cut.
Edit-Paste special-As a picture (JPG is best maybe)

Save the file.
Did it reduce in size? If so, either find a photo editing app that can save
the pictures to compressed (might try www.irfanview.com) files BEFORE
inserting them.

Hope this helps!

Oh! It could also be corrupt or quickly becoming corrupt. Open a new
presentation and Insert-Slides from File and choose your file.

Thanks Anne,
I'm using PP97.

Need some help.
When I open PP and specify File NEW, I then get a new window with a slide in
it.
I click Insert/Insert slides from File and nothing happens.
Should I be doing something else?

Doug

Can you OPEN this file, Doug?
Do you have a file upload capability so I could get your file?
See...I've got this cool little thing me and a coder developed:
http://www.theofficeexperts.com/store.htm#PPTProducts

I can run it on your file if I can just get it.

Hope this helps!

I can get 10MB at least.

Are you saving for backward compatibility with PowerPoint 95? Turn off the "Fast
Save Option" which is known to bloat files.

It WAS on. I turned it off and saved the file again.
It was REALLY SLOW and it didn't seem to make any difference in the size.

Any other ideas?
