Bi-Stable LCD!

How clever is this thing! :

It is a USB stick with a bi-stable LCD screen, meaning that it can display a static image without the need for power. I guess it must be quite dim, but it is still a very clever way to use the screen as it doesn't really need to be updated until the next time it is plugged in (and powered).

Just got back from Maplin a few mins ago to have a quick look at this (it's only 2 mins away), it basically has 3 LCD digits that look like the ones on the cheap casio watches you get and displays the total storage left. A bit expensive for no real value, but fun to look at for a few seconds

Some of Maplins products are like that, did get a cheap CB radio off them a year or 2 back though
