Better cmd.exe?

Subject line says it all. But just for repetition, does Microsoft or
a third-party offer a better cmd.exe program?

I'm not looking for an extensive shell (probably not even a better
shell, although pushd, popd, and other unix tricks would be helpful).
I'm more interested in fixing the GUI weirdness of the current cmd.exe
(fonts, scrollback, cut and paste, and so forth). It feels like a
throwback to MSDOS.

Thanks.

Pushd and popd are implemented in the current WinXP
Command Processor, as is file/directory name completion
and copy/paste. You can have scrollback by making your
Window size big enough - it's one of the properties of the
shortcut you create.

You will find that many of your much-loved unix facilities
are available in the current command processor. You
may have to nose about a bit to find them!
