My question is what happens when my 88 days expires?
Should I uninstall and reinstall a new version? Will the
next version, beta 2 be out by then? What should I do to
keep continued protection with this program.

Between now and that time a beta 2 version will be made available, you are
currently running beta 1. The final version will be made available to
licensed to Windows users.

Read this from Bill:
Either your date and time are set incorrectly--please check--or:

Check the long and short date formats for your locale, via control panel.

Reset these to the topmost choice in the drop-down control.

This works for most, but not all languages and locales--there have been a
few folks for whom we haven't been able to fix this issue.

On the contrary--you now have two programs showing similar issues--I think
that's pretty interesting. It happens that both of them may use the same
programming language.

Have you tested the suggestions given in this and similar threads?

1) check the date and time and be certain they are correct.

2) Let me spell this out fully:

Go to Control Panel, Date, Time, Language, and Regional options.
Choose Regional and Language options

On the Regional Options tab, click on Customize in the upper right.

Click on the Date tab.

Change both the Short date format and the Long date format to the topmost
choices in each drop-down box.

See whether that does the job for you.

Andre--this is the second time you've quoted a completely irrelevant and out
of context message from me.

This advice has nothing to do with the question being asked in this thread.

Maybe you need to start revising what you post Bill, because thats how you
answered an exact question on expiration of MSAS.

I could have simply said though, its still a beta product that will
eventually expire. Between now and the expiry date a second beta will be
provided for testing, the final version will be made available to all
licensed Windows users.

Andre--go back and re-read the original thread that I posted that answer to.

It involved a user for whom the beta had already expired, not one who was
just asking about what would happen when the beta expires.

Ok, When the new version comes out will it just update my
old version or will/should I uninstall beta1 and reinstall
beta12. Same question for Licensed version? Also, since
I bought Windows XP w/sp2 from dell am I considered a
licensed user just as if I purchased XP from a store???

no it will not update the Microsoft Antispyware beta 1 to
a new version, you'll have to uninstall the beta 1 first
then intall the new versions.

You have an OEM version of Windows XP. It is licensed, but not yet
Activated, because it is locked to the hardware of the machine you are
running it on. This license expires when the machine expires, and the
support obligation, if any, is with Dell, rather than Microsoft. Microsoft
would be obligated if this were a retail copy purchased in a store, from
Microsoft.

So--to pass Genuine Validation, you will need to, on a one-time basis--type
in your product ID from the sticker on the case of your machine. That
should be all there is to it.

I am not certain whether you'll be able to upgrade, or need to
uninstall/reinstall--for the final product.
