Will Beta1 eventually be automatically updated to Beta2 through its own
scheduled updating feauture, or will it just pop-up a message for users to
notify them about the update?

(I'm deploying Defender Beta def. updates through WSUS and would expect to
see these updated being picked up by more and more clients if Beta1 to Beta2
updated are done without user intervention. Currently I have no clue about
the amount of user who installed the Beta1 themselves)

Steve Dodson has posted, since your messages, I believe, that Microsoft will
post in .announcements here before notice to beta1 users is made through the
program. This will happen, but it has not happened yet.

Excellent, I looked up the threat (called: Automatic Updates from Microsoft
Windows AntiSpyware (beta 1))
and will keep an eye on the announcement group for the moment MS throws the
switch.

I'm glad we'll get that notice--I think the heads up will be valuable to
lots of folks.
