Hi Chris,

Have you read the responses to the other messages relating to this prºblem?
You can use the Search For (window) typing whatever apply and press Go. Try
you'll like it. ;-)

What type of account in Windows are you trying to install Microsoft
AntiSpyware under?
If its a limited accounted, it is not supported by MSAS
in the beta 1 release.
If its an Administrator account, I would uninstall
Microsoft AntiSpyware, and delete the Microsoft AntiSpyware folder located
at c:\program files, restart the computer and reinstall Microsoft
AntiSpyware to a non-default location such as c:\msas

An alternative solution that some claim works better:

Hi

I´m glad the Desktop trick did it.

The problem for mostly all users is cached old MSAS copys
within the temporarily folders.

I am really dissipointed that MS don´t use different filenames
for different MSAS versions, but it´s a Beta............
(it´s probably beacuse of autoupgrade issuses ? )

Nevertheless I also recommend a temporarily junkyard
removal with CCleaner for a Christmas house cleaning of
your PC.

This is "state of the art" for malware removals.
