7-Zip was recommeded awhile back to me on the group here so I downloaded and
installed it. This program is much faster then any of the others and has
some wonderful options to it. I love it. I can view zip files as folders and
not have a problem accessing. It is small and runs very well under xp.

http://www.7-zip.org/

From their website:
The main features of 7-Zip:

Highest compression ratio in new 7z format
7-Zip is free software distributed under the GNU LGPL
Supported formats: 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and
DEB
For ZIP and GZIP formats 7-Zip provides compression ratio that is 2-10 %
better than ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip
Self-extracting capability for 7z format
Integration with Windows Shell
Powerful File Manager
Powerful command line version
Plugin for FAR Manager
Localizations for 40 languages

7-Zip works in Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP. Command line version of 7-Zip can
be used in Linux via Wine program.
7-Zip is a free software distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public
License.

I'll second that. The only problem I have with Filzip, is how to replace
a file in an archive with another file.

Seconded. I have been using PowerArchiver 6.11.0 for quite some time. IMHO
it is pretty much a winzip clone. Best of all it works. It has never
crashed on me.

PowerDesk version 4 w/ version 5 search component installed.
It allows to search inside of archives.
Also if you install version 5, it activates the sync folder option in
version 4.
