Hi all,
as in subject; I made a google search for "peer to peer" in the NG but
not found what I need ... in orde of relevance, the program I want
should be:

1 - no malware, spyware - I could accept a (honest) adware;

2 - large availability of files (sorry don't know how to put this
concept correctly in English ... it seems to me that some P2P programs
have more file available than others, that's what I mean);

3 - no install, just unzip and go; it's not important.

I've read on today's message "Klitetools.com - Freeware Updates Oct
11" of a program called Ares, a SourceForge project; anyone uses it?
Does it have, as in point 2, large availability of files?

Thanks in advance.

FWIW
"Ares" is listed a few times as infested. Note that those might
be different than the one you mention:

They've almost always had what I was looking for.

> Have they the "large availability of files" I told in the first post?

Yes and no..... explanation?, okie dokie ...

********************
KCEasy
********************

This P2P application comes as standard with 3 networks (Ares, Gnutella and
OpenFT) and if you ask someone that has the plugin, also provides access to
the FastTrack network (commonly associated with Kazaa/Kazaa Lite etc).

********************
DC++
********************

DC++ is not like most P2P applications that you will come accross. In this
case, it is more like a global IRC network in that, you enter "hubs" which
contain people sharing files on their PC's. In order to access these hubs,
you must be sharing files yourself (the share size requirement varies from
hub to hub but is usually > 10Gb).

DC++ is far superior to the normal P2P applications IMHO as there are 3-4
times the amount of users and thus, many many more files. Files on this
network are (depending on the hub) almost always virus/malware free and
mostly, are not "scannable" by the likes of the RIAA.

I agree with Steven about KCEasy, been using it for a year and it works
well,possably the best around....possably Pricelessware,as to large amount
of files, that depends on what you are looking for but I've always found
what I was after. You'd have to try it and see if it has what YOU want.
