Morning All,
A simple database I created to build quotes has worked pretty well in the
office. Now they want to use it for the other smaller offices located in
other towns around Colombia.
I would like to find out what might be the best practices for this? I have
already spit it into FE and BE and all the data is on a server with the FE's
on the users computer.
The problems I cant get my head around at the moment are:
The list of products for merchants I have here in the main office, will most
likely become the base for the outer offices. But the outer offices will
have some products that only they keep. So if ppl in the outer offices add
their local products or modify products IE price etc, how do I keep this
under control. In reality I dont want them messing too much with it.
Should I have a system of tables for local products etc?
Whats the best method for issuing and updating things? There is no
infrastructure between the offices as far as networking goes. The outer
offices only have a modem to connect to the internet for email.
Iam sure there will be a lot of other things to consider but, this is really
the first database Ive created. And its been a real challenge so far.
