Aside from Vista's standard cleanup, disk tools. Does anyone have any
recommendations of any good programs for Vista?

This is quite a powerful and far reaching tool:

Just stay away from the registry, unless you know what you are doing.

The Microsoft(R) Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset is one of the best
recovery/troubleshooting utilities - however it is part of the Microsoft
Desktop Optimization Pack which is not readily available. The "Toolset"
includes the following:

. All existing WinRE tools
.. Disk Commander
.. ERD Registry Editor
.. Standalone System Sweeper*
.. ERD Commander
.. ERD Help
.. LockSmith. Crash
Analyzer
.. Explorer
.. File Search
.. File Restore
.. Hotfix Uninstall
.. System File Repair
.. System Information. TCP/IP
Config
.. Map Network Drive
.. Solution Wizard. Services
& Drivers
.. Disk Management
.. Disk Wipe. Event
Viewer
.. Autoruns
.. Zip/Unzip

Yes a lot more than you I assure you... I gave the answers and
with all the naysayers it is reasonable to believe the asker knows
he needs to be careful. Oh and by the way, those are all reasonably
safe.

Folks do not gain the skills needed to maintain a computer by never
trying to improve.
