I'm upgrading my application to .Net and need a grid control
replacement for my old one. I was using the Farpoint control, which I
really like but the new version for .Net is fairly expensive. I have
found another control which looks really cool and is pretty cheap,
XtraGrid: http://www.devexpress.com/products/n...grid/index.asp

Has anyone tried this? How good is it? It does everything I need
except for cell merging. Are there any other good grid controls I
should be looking at that provide the same kind of features?

Ray,
I actually like the DataGrid found in .NET!

If you download the VB.NET Resource Kit you get the ComponentOne Flex Grid &
True DB Grid, plus a number of other controls, to use:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx

I also like the grid from Janus Systems:
http://www.janusys.net/janus/library/

Hope this helps
Jay

Ray,

I've used this grid for almost 3 yrs with Borland C++ Builder 4.0. Its
pretty good and very userfriendly. But I've no idea about .NET applications.
I'm also desperately looking grid. Can anyone please recommend us the best
grid.

Regards
ItsMe

Hi,

You could have a look at Xceed Grid for .NET. We designed it to be
easy to understand and really extensible. Any of the grid's behavior
can be modified or improved.

You can download our trial version. The only limitation is time, not
functionality. The support is also free, even for those testing the
library !

Regards,
