I haven't used a screensaver since 1867.

Well, ok, since changing to LCD displays

No need, Carstairs, no need.....

Well that is if you ignore asthetics as being essential to a persons well being apart from cutting yourself of from some darn fine art.

Essential to one's well being? A screen saver? Blimey

Screen savers always irritated the hell outta me, tbh

The only one I ever really liked was a rather dated Christmas themed one, probably about 14 years old, it was full of atmosphere and my 3 daughters, quite young at the time, loved it as well. probably still have it somewhere but I bet the graphics look extremely dated.

I'm not keen on auto, I'm a kind of manual control type person.

Things cutting in uninvited make me want to.... kick them

Oooooooooh I think I have a nice xmas one somewher.

They do use up a lot if pc power to run I must admit, well the heavy duty ones do. I normally run without one aswell.

Same here . Not had a screen saver for many years now - as if I'm near the PC to see the screensaver it would probably be in use.

...although now that I've clicked on that first NVIDIA link, I'm going to have a play with the demos and see what my 8800 can do! Thanks Abarbarian .
