Hi all,

Looking to find the best envelope printer for our purposes. Here's the
rundown:

- Doesn't need to do anything else
- Will be printing at least 20 to 400 envelopes twice a week
- If we had a really good printer, it might print over a thousand
envelopes at a time

The purpose is simply to print addresses on envelopes, for mailing.

I've done some searching but am so far only running around in circles.
Something like the Pitney Bowes DA300 which is over $5000 is too
expensive. Ideally I'd like to be able to present a couple of options
for purchase: a cheap one, medium range, and powerhouse envelope
printer.

Thanks for your help,

Nabha

Have you thought of a dedicated label printer?

I was in the same position and purchased a label printer and never looked
back!!

I won't recommend any particular printer but make the comment that if you buy a
laser (which sounds best for you) be careful because some A4/letter laser
printers are not that good at printing large quantities of portrait envelopes,
they tend to have early fuser roller wear. If you are going to print A4 or
letter envelopes landscape they should be OK.

Thanks for your answers. We ended up going with windowed envelopes and
printing the address on the receipts we were sending out -- so this
cuts out a whole step.

Nabha-

What about the step where you print the return address on the envelope?

Consider using clear labels. Any printer can do that quickly.

Maybe he is unaware that clear label exist. He may appreciate a tip, who
knows? do you? He can save on ink that way and save even more if he uses
aftermarket brands instead of the expensive Canon or HP or Epson inks. They
sure save people a lot of money.
