What is the most affordable and still high-quality camera out there - its maker (e.g. Canon, etc.) and its model pls??

How affordable, and what do you want to use it for? There are lots of cameras that would suit a wide variety of people, so you'll need to give us a clue how much you want to spend or what type you are after.

Best compact is probably Canon G9.

Best hybrid is probably Panasonic Lumix series

Best budget DSLR is probably Sony A200

Affordable and High Quality?

As others have stated, without a budget it is impossible to suggest anything. Let us know how much are you willing to pay?

It would also help if you tell us the type of photography you are interested in so something can be recommended keeping that aspect in mind e.g. if you like outdoors and landscapes a wider angle lens can be useful, if interested in people, a longer lens fits the bill better.
