switches available:
Dlink, Netgear, Trendnet, Linksys and others.

Which one is the best? Are they all ok? Are there any to avoid?

It really depends on what you're trying to do. If you are building a
small office network (perhaps 10 boxen and a server), those switches
will be fine. If you are planning a big network, you're going to want
to spend the bucks on a really good switch.

I have 4 of the netgear switches and the work like a champ!!! If you
need a good cheap 24 port, check out Dell for around $400.

I have a linksys (also wireless) and 2 ea. 4 port switches, they work
great. easy as pie to set up.
