Not sure if this is where I should post.

I recently re-installed winxp sp2 and cannot make an Acer ScanPrisa 124OUT
model 6682-A3A scanner work again. I have downloaded the recommended driver
and software in mirascanv403u10.zip from BenQ and reinstalled a couple of
times according to BenQ instructions all to no avail. Whenever an
application calls the scanner I get:

Read image failure!

Please restart scanner.

Code [2882:1118]

I have not been able to get much help from google.

Any help appreciated, John.

Sometimes you have to disconnect the hardware before you install the software.
try to uninstall the hardware, then boot and install the software, then
install the hardware. is this a USB scanner???
