Did you recently install a Windows XP patch that affects wireless
networking? There is one that changes the protection from WEP to WPA.
That wreaked havoc on my network and stupid Belkin (my card manufacturer)
said that the only thing I could do was reinstall Windows. Like a fool I
did that, but upon installing patches I found that it happened again.
This time I spent a couple of hours to track it down and found that
backing out of the wireless networking patch my network started working
again.
The patch is 826942
Now the reason why I had to back out this patch is because my card/router
don't support WPA. If you can upgrade your firmware to support WPA, then
you're probably better off doing that in the long run.
Good luck, and let us know what the resolution was.
