I have recently fitted a router to enable broadband on my sons computer, the
connection does not drop out,but the default gateway fails a ping test and I
have to reset the router before i get a service back.Belkin support thinks my
firewall is blocking.I use service pack 2 firewall with avg antivirus and run
windows xp.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Grateful for any help

I am not sure the issue. But if you can't ping the gateway, you may enable ping on the router instead of XP.
