I recently added some behaviors to some layers of interactive buttons I
created in a website I am developing. Now when I go into the same website to
try to add additional layers and then try to add behaviors to the new layers,
the Insert and Delete buttons in the Behaviors task pane are grayed out. I'm
sure I probably made a change that limited the behaviors portion of the
FrontPage program but now I cannot figure out how to turn on this
functionality again. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I tried to send a copy of a page that is a problem to you at the email
address in your user profile but my message was returned as undeliverable
because 'the destination computer could not be found'. But it's not just this
page that's a problem. Even a new page in a new site on my system doesn't
give me the option to insert a behavior for a layer. Did I somehow
inadvertently turn off behaviors???

Make sure in Tools Page Options Authoring that CSS 1 & 2 are turned on and you have selected your layer before trying the behaviors

Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a novice with this so please bear with me. I am
working on the site as a disk-based site. My understanding is that unless I
publish it, you'll be unable to link to it. My understanding is also that
since I am not quite ready to publish the site nor do I as yet have anyone to
picked to host it, I've got nowhere to upload it to. Is there another way I
can get my site to where you can view it?

Stephan, Thanks for responding. CSS 1 & 2 are on and, yes, I have selected
the layer before trying the behaviors. This is happening with multiple layers
which makes me think I accidentally changed something in Tools but I cannot
figure out what.

Your understanding is correct. The only two other ways I can think of would
be to a) ship me your computer, or b) paste the code for the page into a
reply here.

I think the latter might be more expedient....

I'm not sure why you are not able to manage these layers in FP. I do not
see anything in the code that would be preventing it.

(for what it's worth, I look on event handlers applied directly to div tags
with a very jaundiced eye - I'd much rather see you implement the methods
