Before I throw my computer.....

I created my website originally with another program (Perfect Website Creator
from Cosmi) and have it published on my verizon web space until my site is
complete and I post it to it's permanent domain name address. I had in the
past been able to import the site into front page to add a form and another
page with a number of hyperlinks and republish with FP2003.
I had decided to make new changes to the design with the orignal software
and republish, knowing that I would need to alter again with FP.
I have looked at all of the discussion threads I could find here pertaining
to publishing problems and have downloaded the FP Cleaner, cleaned out
temporary files and cache. I have repaired FP, UnInstalled it, ReInstalled
it, tried both importing website as well as copying site from Remote View and
NOTHING is working for me.
I am a newbie and have done all I know to do to no avail.
ANY SUGGESTIONS? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Unfortunately all I can do is ask what you mean by "NOTHING is working for
me. " ? What exactly is the error that you are encountering ? Have you
removed/reinstalled all FP extensions on your host ?

This is the very first thing to do. Worst case scenario is to :

Go into your hosts control panel
Remove the FP extensions
Go to the online file manager.
Backup any databases.
Delete all files on the shell.
Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
Reinstall the FP extensions.
Open the site in FP and publish to a local EMPTY directory.
Re-import/rebuild the entire site.

Why do people want to throw perfectly good computers through perfectly
good windows ? Just something I ask myself every single day ;>)

I've heard A LOT of people threaten that exact same action and I always
respond in the same way:

If you do, it *will* violate the warranty of your computer.

Verizon doesn't offer FP extensions and I wouldn't be surprised if I managed
to accidently delete them myself. That is why I've UN ans ReInstalled.
However, again I'm nopt a crack whip at this, but atleast the _vti_cnf and
_vti_pvt files are back.
As far as the warranty, at this point I don't care.

Host (Verizon) says they don't have FP extensions. I'm only parking it there
until my site is complete. Is it time to shop for a good host, that can
support what I'm trying to do. I haven' even figured out what I need to do
about a database yet.

By the way, it's the computer or me!

Thanks for answering!

See, I can't even figure out how to reply to these and see my posts, I've
attempted to answer you kind people and can't seem to even do that right
today.
I am only getting the eggtimer when I try to publish. Even my microsft help
buddy, "Dot" doesn't do cartwheels anymore. My host Verizon does not have FP
extensions and it is entirely possible, that I accidently deleted the
extensions myself ( hence, the UN and ReInstall attempt). I am only parking
my site with Verizon till it's complete. I did have a FP Application form and
a page of Hyperlinks on it before I changed the design with the other
software program. So it worked once.
Is it time to shop for a host. I still haven't figured out my data base
problems yet!

Something still may get thrown out the window, the computer or me. At this
point, I'm still leaning towards the computer!

How are you accessing the newsgroup? If you are going thru the MS website,
try doing a refresh before posting multiple times.
