I am using the so-called Solutions Center for the HP 7200 series AIO,
and cannot get the scan function to save what I scan. It shows an
error message saying that it cannot do the save. I am using XP PRO
SP2.

I had created a new folder called c:\My Scans, but I notice the
properties say read only. Naturally, I suspect this is my problem,
but when I remove the check on read only, it comes right back again.
That is, it won't let me remove the check. The XP Helps show that I
should be able to change permissions, but it shows doing it via a
security tab under the folder's properties. I see no such tab.

What am I missing? Am I in the right place to do what I want to do?
Do you think this is why I cannot save what I scan?

I am the only user of this system with Administrator privileges, I
think.

A check mark in the readonly box of a folder does not mean what you think it
means. XP ignores this setting.

You must disable simple file sharing to see the security tab.

I know nothing of the program that you are using, but rest assured that the
readonly attribute of a folder has nothing to do with your problem.
