Hi, can someone tell me if I can become my own web server. I am in the
process of designing a web site with Frontpage and would like to know if
with my Athlon 1800 if I can use it as a server.

Thanks

If you're running Windows 2000 pro or XP pro yes.
Just install IIS and the FrontPage extensions.

( if running 9x, install PWS )

However, make sure you keep up with security issues.
Also, do you have a static IP address with your ISP so that
the "location" of your web site doesn't change every time
you restart your computer or log onto the "net"??

Make sure your ISP allows you to host a web server on your connection.

Thanks a lot, yes I have a static address on cable modem. Is my ISP going to
provide me with all the parameters necessary to go online? I called them
last week and they do not seem to know much about web serving, weird!

Cheers
