BCM - Email to all in a category

Using BCM (Office 2007), I want to send an email to all contacts in a
specific category. In contacts it is simple and straightforward. But in BCM,
is there a simple way to do that?

I have found that you can send a message using the 'mail merge', but I
really don't like that. Is there another way?
