After installing the .NET 2.0 Framework I found that BCM would not start, it
continually threw an error and asked to be restarted. After removing the
..NET 2.0 Framework this problem disappeared. Has anyone else encountered
this problem? Does anyone know of a workaround?

Hi Tim

I did see other posting in the news groups indicating that some user did
experience issue after installing .Net Frame Work 2.0.This might be due to
remnants or some corruption generally uninstall and reinstalling should
normally take care of it.Btw i am running .net Frame work 2.0 without any
issue

Tim,

You should really know better. I almost did the same thing, but I was
sure that I'd come back to this newsgroup and see someone else had
problems. It never fails. I've been that guy too many times with
updates that are supposed to help.

I had the opposite happen. I tried to uninstall 2.0 to use the new WinFX
components since it isn't compatible and when I opened Outlook, it removed
the data connection to my BCM data file and wouldn't start Outlook, so I had
to choose between two MS applications. Go figure!

Set up two Mail profiles, one with BCM and the other without.

Luther,
Is this a workaround until there is a new version of BCM? We have .net
framework 2.0 installed and cannot uninstall for various reasons...

The beta of BCM v3 works with the released version of .NET 2.0.

Luther,
Thanks for the reply. Have reverted to disabling BCM while using .net 2.0 on
a laptop. Yes, v3 does work.
Thanks again for your time.

How do you know wich version of BCM do you have when you can't even start
outlook? I am trying to figure out if I have v2 or v3?

I too am having the same issues. I was on the phone with Microsoft yesterday
uninstalling and reinstalling BCM and detecting and repairing Outlook. I
should have known to look here first and make the decision not to install
BCM. Unfortunately, I need the functionality between Outlook, BCM and Small
Business Accounting. Too late to return SBA, the package has been opened!

Anyway, if I install the Beta version 3 of BCM, will Microsoft support it? I
hate to install something that has no support feature.
