Hi Greg,
Have you tried to group them by categories, then change your view to
Group by Category? Would that help?
Another way is to create a "search folder" for each of your main
groups (this may look more like the "sub-folders" that you are looking
for), but you'll be specifying the search criteria for each of the
folders so the contacts appear correctly in each.
