Does anyone know a way to archive business projects? Right now, as I see it,
once you delete a business project, and any tasks associated with it, it's
gone. We would REALLY like a way to archive the business projects once they
are complete without them sitting in the "Open Business Projects" list with
simply a "Completed" status. Has anyone come across this, or had to address
this?

Thanks in advance!

OK, I found it myself browsing through all the posts, from someone
accidentally deleting a project.

My solution is to access the "Deleted Items" folder that is shown in the
folder list view on the right side of Outlook. I browsed the deleted items
and saw everything there even with the ability to sort. I was then concerned
with someone emptying the deleted items folder, much like someone would empty
thier recycle bin in Windows or in their inbox in Outlook. The solution I
found to that is already built in. By right clicking on the BCM deleted
items folder, there are ARCHIVING OPTIONS!! YEA! The rest is self
explanatory.

Hope this helps someone out there.

I don't see that Archiving Options when I right click. Perhaps we have
different version of Outlook.

My favorite way to archive data is by exporting it to BCM files.

BCM files are supposed to be future compatible--i.e. new versions of
BCM should import older version BCM files. That has been the case to
date.

Also, BCM files are text, so if all else fails, that critical
telephone number is still available by opening the file in Notepad. Or
if you need to recover all your data, and that data is priceless, then
you can always contract to have the XML data converted into another
format.

BCM files tend to get rather large, but because they have a lot of
redundant XML tags, they compress nicely; e.g. into ZIP files/folders.
