When sending mail to someone with Outlook 2003 as a Bcc: the attachments are
not send. All the mail is received as a large text (presume this was the
attachment)

Solution? someone?

What message format did you use? RTF is only supported by Microsoft
mail clients.

I'm not sure, I send from Gmail.

but when I send the same message to the same recipient (placing the address
in the TO: box) then the mail is received fine. The problem only occurs when
I send a Bcc:

And what happens if you BCC a gmail account? Do they get the attachment?

If I had to guess, it's the recipients A/V software having an issue with an
attachment coming in but without the user actually on the To or CC line. If
their ISP provides a web based mail reader, have them check there to see if
they can see the attachment and, if they can, they need to look at what they
have on their machine in Outlook that is causing the problem. I really
doubt it's anything you're doing, unless there's a Gmail setting I'm not
aware of.
