Battery pop-up

Help, I'm getting a pop-up which shows a solid outline of a battery with the level showing in red, on my laptop. I've changed the internal battery but it is still coming up. My internet access is very slow and Explorer often shows' not responding'

can anyone help?

More info needed please, spec of laptop? Has it always done it or just started? How old is the laptop? etc etc.
