Hi Folks: I have a lot of "captured" videos made with Sony Image Mixer, with
names such as cap0001.mpg.

I would like to know if there is any way to rename all the files in a folder
sequentially, from a command line, using a starting number.

The reason I need to do this is that I make a series of videos and then save
them somewhere, and then make another series, and the second series has the
same numbers as the first, as the program always starts with 0001.

Thanks...Mike

To illustrate, try this.
Create a new folder on your desk, and open it. Use Rightclick , New to
create three text files. Then select all three files, and rightclick the
first file, renaming it something.txt, and hit enter. All the files will be
numbered. something.txt, something(1).txt, something(2).txt
