To illustrate, try this.
Create a new folder on your desk, and open it. Use Rightclick , New to
create three text files. Then select all three files, and rightclick the
first file, renaming it something.txt, and hit enter. All the files will be
numbered. something.txt, something(1).txt, something(2).txt
