Batch file to install hotfixes

To All:

I am trying to create a batch file that will install hotfixes on a
standalone system running xp. I know how to do the batch file to
install multiple hotfixes http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=296861,
but I do not want it to install the hotfix if it already exists. Is
there a way to check to see if the hotfix exists before installing.
