Hello OJ,

the bat2exe utility was created for MS-DOS 5.0 a long long time
ago. It only compiles internal MS-DOS commands into a EXE file.

It will not work with the CMD.EXE based batch files.
I don't know about such a tool for Windows NT/2000/XP.

Greetings,
Reinhardt

I believe the commercial product Winbatch is still available, though I've
never used it myself. It used to be fairly pricey (~US$200). Also, it has
its own extensions and syntax that overlaps standard batch, but it does have
a compiler. The OP can try a google search for Winbatch to find the source,
if they want to look into it.

About a year ago I bought Brandon Dargo's batch file compiler from his site
at:

http://www.bdargo.com/

But after I had it, I found I hardly ever had a need for it. Since then
I've upgraded to the command processor 4NT ($69.95 U.S.) which includes a
batch file compressor along with its hundreds of other powerful batch file
tools. That $69.95 for 4NT has been a far better investment for me. The
link to the 4NT web site is:
